Together for the Future of Padel in Germany
The future of padel, one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, is in good hands in Germany thanks to a comprehensive partnership between Polytan GmbH and Padel Arena Kamen.
The collaboration was officially launched in September 2023 and recently reached an initial peak with the first inclusion tournament of the Special Olympics Team North Rhine-Westphalia – a fitting event considering both partners’ strong commitment to inclusivity and sustainability in sport.
The competition was held at the Padel Arena Kamen and featured members of the Special Olympics Team kitted out in Polytan jerseys playing alongside two Polytan GmbH employees who actively participated in the event.
Oliver Witt, operator of Padel Arena Kamen, expressed his enthusiasm for the part-nership: “Working with Polytan is a major advantage for us. The positive feedback from our customers on the new Polytan Padel system speaks for itself. After the first court was equipped with the innovative Laykold Padel ET [an elastic base layer for the padel turf), all players preferred this court. It was only natural for us to upgrade the second court in the same way.”
Polytan places great importance on collaborating closely with athletes and facility operators in product development – whether for artificial turf, base layers, or com-plete courts. “Only through direct interaction with players and court operators can we develop the best possible padel court system,” said Alexander Wörz, Product Man-ager for Polytan’s padel division. “Our extensive collaboration with Padel Arena Ka-men is a key part of this approach.”
Together, Padel Arena Kamen and Polytan GmbH aim to further develop and promote padel in Germany, with a particular focus on nurturing young talent. Polytan is al-ready supporting Mica Witthüser, a promising young padel player who is based at Padel Arena Kamen, as a brand ambassador.
Since the Polytan-Padel Arena Kamen partnership began, the arena has been official-ly renamed “Polytan Padel Arena in Kamen.” All existing courts have been equipped with the innovative Laykold Padel ET, a specially developed elastic base for padel that offers an excellent alternative to traditional substructures such as asphalt or concrete. Additional courts are planned, with Polytan set to install the entire court, including the base layer.
Polytan is one of the world’s leading providers of sports surface solutions, develop-ing innovative, sustainable products that meet the highest standards. Padel Arena Kamen is one of the premier facilities for padel in Germany, known for its top-quality courts and excellent training opportunities. Both partners benefit from their active exchange, which has enhanced product quality and the standard of courts in Kamen. Based on a common vision and mutual respect, the partnership is set to grow and strengthen padel in Germany over the long term.
