Mineral filling material
You find it on almost every synthetic turf pitch: the mineral filling material sand, or specifically quartz sand. The quartz sand we use and that is monitored according to EN 15330-1 features a defined quality and particle size. It ensures stable support of the blades and protects the turf’s support fabric. Its favourable purchase price and low maintenance requirements are plus points for sand. A prerequisite of good playability is a densely woven turf, which on the one hand holds the sand in place, and on the other hand takes on cushioning functions in combination with the elastic base layer, as well as ensuring a good protective function for athletes.
