LigaTurf Cross at the Campo de Fútbol Municipal de Sobradiel, Spain
The perfect solution for a busy pitch
The small town of Sobradiel in the northeast of Spain is only 20 km away from Zaragoza, the provincial capital of Aragon. The Campo de Fútbol Municipal on the outskirts of the town, overlooking the River Ebro, is part of a park-like sports complex. It includes an open-air swimming pool, a roofed multipurpose sports hall and a football pitch, which we fitted with Polytan synthetic turf in 2022. The chosen surface was our LigaTurf Cross. This filled synthetic turf system combines smooth and textured filaments, combining the benefits of both turf types to create a robust football turf. LigaTurf Cross is the perfect solution for the busy professional training facilities of amateur and professional clubs alike, as well as sports colleges. At the Campo de Fútbol Municipal de Sobradiel, it is intensively used by players from the “Real Federación aragonesa de Fútbol”, which represents all three provinces of Aragon – Huesca, Zaragoza and Teruel.
In the mean time, we have further developed our LigaTurf Cross turf and adapted it to new requirements. Today, it is available in multiple environmentally friendly variants. These include LigaTurf Cross R, which contains filaments made of recycled materials, and LigaTurf Cross GT zero, the world’s first carbon-neutral synthetic football turf. It is primarily based on sustainable, organic PE raw materials, sourced from non-recyclable sugar cane. LigaTurf Cross GTR is our clear frontrunner in terms of Green Technology – GTR stands for the sustainability and future viability of our products and solutions. Because as well as renewable materials, LigaTurf Cross GTR now also contains recycled material, making it a low-maintenance, durable synthetic turf for training and sports facilities that elevates climate protection and sustainability to a new level in the world of synthetic turf systems.
