Sustainable synthetic turf with high recycled material content
The small commune of Theix-Noyalo is located in southern Brittany, near the Atlantic coast. Oyster picking, fishing and agriculture characterise the day to day of its almost 10,000 inhabitants. Holidaymakers explore its numerous beaches, bays, mud flats, moors and forests. Visitors are keen to sample Breton traditions, which can be seen at many festivals, as well as countless remnants of Stone-Age megalithic cultures, with their dolmens and other stone formations – greetings from Obelix.
The Complexe Sportif de Brestivan is where the Avenir Association Theix plays its home games. The stadium has space for 2,500 spectators, partially in covered stands, and has three football pitches in total. The main pitch was fitted with our LigaTurf Cross R synthetic turf in the summer of 2023. This synthetic turf containing a high recycled material combines the playing characteristics of natural grass with our advanced technologies, making it as robust and low-maintenance as fully textured synthetic turf. In addition, it has a mixture of straight and textured filaments, perfectly combining the benefits of both fibre types: thanks to its straight filaments, LigaTurf Cross R looks and feels like natural grass.
What’s more, its textured filaments guarantee low and easy maintenance, greater infill stability and increased turf volume. On the whole, LigaTurf Cross R is the perfect solution for busy professional training facilities, sports colleges, and amateur and professional clubs alike. Thanks to recycled material in the filaments, LigaTurf Cross R is also highly sustainable.
In Theix-Noyalo, France, our new LigaTurf Cross R once again proves that football can be exceedingly environmentally friendly when played on modern synthetic turf. As well as by players from the Avenir Association Theix, it will also be used by various youth teams from the local area. The pitch was installed by our French partner, Pigeon TP.
