LigaTurf Cross in Ripollet, Spain
The perfect solution for a busy pitch
The Catalonian town of Ripollet is located in the northeast of Spain and is part of the Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona. At the local football stadium – home of the Club de Futbol Ripollet, established in 1921 – a new synthetic turf from Polytan was installed in 2022: the LigaTurf Cross. The project was managed and installed by the spanish company SPORTS & LANDSCAPE, our exclusive partner for Catalonia and Basque Country. This filled synthetic turf combines smooth and textured filaments, combining the benefits of both turf types to create a robust football turf. LigaTurf Cross is the perfect solution for the busy professional training facilities of amateur and professional clubs alike, as well as sports colleges. In Ripollet, it is used by the various subdivisions of the Club de Futbol – including women’s teams, various youth divisions and children’s groups. It is also used for training by members of the Escuela de Futbol Base Ripollet football school and the Peña Deportiva Pajaril football club.
Our LigaTurf Cross has since been further developed and adapted to new requirements. Today, it is available in multiple environmentally friendly variants. These include LigaTurf Cross R, which contains filaments made of recycled materials, and LigaTurf Cross GT zero, the world’s first carbon-neutral synthetic football turf. It is primarily based on sustainable, organic PE raw materials, sourced from non-recyclable sugar cane. LigaTurf Cross GTR is our clear frontrunner in terms of Green Technology – a descriptor that stands for the sustainability and future viability of our products and solutions. Because as well as renewable materials, LigaTurf Cross GTR now also contains recycled material, making it a low-maintenance, durable synthetic turf for training and sports facilities that elevates climate protection and sustainability to a whole new level in the world of synthetic turf systems.
