LigaTurf RS+ at Sianów Municipal Stadium, Poland
Active in “Kashubian Switzerland”
The Polish town of Sianów is located in Szwajcaria Kaszubska (also known as “Kashubian Switzerland”), a hilly forest and lake landscape near Gdańsk. The Kashubians have lived there for over a thousand years and have their own language and traditions. The Sianów Sanktuarium, with a statue of the Virgin Mary, is a destination for Kashubian pilgrims, while tourists in the area can sense the region’s hospitality and deep connection to nature. Visitors can enjoy active recreational pursuits, such as hiking, cycling, riding or boating
For even more action, the Sianów Stadium is the place to go. It was renovated from the ground up: the two natural grass pitches were renewed, as were the stands for more than 1,000 spectators with a spacious commentator room, new changing rooms and sanitary facilities. The heart of the renovation project was the new synthetic turf training pitch with floodlight system. The pitch can now be used intensively all year round. The facility serves as a training ground for the men’s football team Victoria Sianów and the women’s football team Victoria SP2 Sianów. The new football pitch was built by Panorama Obiekty Sportowe using our highly robust LigaTurf RS+ synthetic turf system. The turf is highly robust and durable, thanks to the fibres’ special ratio of width and thickness, which causes them to return an upright position after use
LigaTurf RS+ also stands out for its optimal shock absorption and excellent ball rolling and bouncing behaviour. This is made possible by its rhombus-shaped, extra-thick fibres combined with Polytan Entanglement Technology. Our LigaTurf RS+ also has FIFA Quality Pro certification, making it suitable for stadiums, professional training facilities and amateur clubs alike. Our mission is to make the future of sports more sustainable. That’s why the Polytan team is constantly working on environmentally friendly solutions and minimising the use of fossil raw materials in its products. For example, we have further developed our tried-and-tested synthetic turf system: the filaments of the LigaTurf RS+ R now contain post-consumer recycled material. The turf therefore fulfils modern sustainability requirements and is certified in accordance with the ISCC’s mass balance approach.
For a holistic sporting experience, running, skating and cycling tracks will be built around the stadium in Sianów. Athletes can already train and compete on the new synthetic turf pitch, which includes a floodlight system.
