Athletics facility with state-of-the-art technology
The French commune of Val-de-Reuil is located in central Normandy, west of the River Seine. Alongside a gymnastics hall, numerous tennis and squash courts, and the roofed Stade Jesse Owens, the Parc des Sports complex also includes the Stade Bernard Amsalem athletics arena. It features a running circuit, which encloses a football pitch. The primary users of the stadium are the football club FC Val-de-Reuil and the Val de Reuil Athletique Club, which was founded in 1983. The athletics club includes a large department for children and youth sports for ages three and up. For years, the club has prioritised the integration of people with disabilities in its membership. The department for adapted sport (Sport adapté) makes it possible for athletes with physical or mental disabilities to practice athletics at the club.
At the Stade Bernard Amsalem, we fitted the eight-lane running circuit, the integrated sprinting lanes and the run-up tracks for various jumping disciplines with our Rekortan PUR synthetic surface in brick red. This multi-layered solid synthetic surface provides the ideal foundation for personal bests and record times in athletics. At the same time as installing the running track surface, we also installed the Polytan SMART timing system – our sophisticated method for measuring and documenting training performance. The Polytan SMART system at the Stade Bernard Amsalem consists of integrated timing gates in the two innermost lanes of the running circuit and the two outer sprinting lanes. It is accompanied by a wireless sensor weighing only 15 grams and the tried-and-tested diagnostics software from our partner Humotion. Alternatively, athletes can also use their own smartphone. The performance diagnostics system allows athletes to record the results of agility tests, jumping tests, endurance tests and sprint tests. It is ideal for performance diagnostics, be it for single athletes or an entire team, either in athletics or team sports.
