Recycled Turf for Top-Level Football in a Polish Football Academy

Głogów (formerly Glogau) is located in Poland's Lower Silesian Voivodeship along the Oder River. Historically part of Prussia for centuries, the city was almost completely destroyed during World War II, and its reconstruction is considered a model example of historic restoration. This development was made possible thanks to the discovery of copper deposits, followed by the construction of one of Europe's largest copper smelters. This led to rapid population growth, and today, Głogów, with over 60,000 residents, is one of the ten largest cities in Lower Silesia. Football has always played a prominent role in this industrial city driven by mining and heavy industry. Today, the Chrobry Głogów club competes in the first Polish league. On the club's training ground within the Chrobry Głogów Sports Complex, Training Field No. 3 has now been renovated and equipped with our LigaTurf Cross R. This recycled turf combines the playing characteristics of natural grass with technologies that make it as durable and low-maintenance as fully textured artificial turf. It combines smooth and textured filaments made from recycled materials, bringing together the benefits of both fiber types: The smooth filaments give LigaTurf Cross R the look and feel of natural grass. At the same time, the textured filaments ensure easy and reduced maintenance, better stabilization of infill, and increased turf volume. LigaTurf Cross R is the ideal solution for heavily used professional training facilities, as well as for amateur clubs and sports schools. Due to the recycled content in its filaments, LigaTurf Cross R also impresses with its sustainability. What makes us and the users particularly happy: the surface of the training field has been awarded the FIFA Quality PRO certificate. Products, playing surfaces, and technologies awarded with this seal guarantee optimal performance at the highest level.Our new LigaTurf Cross R demonstrates in Głogów, Poland, that top-level football can be sustainable. It is primarily used by players from the Chrobry Głogów Football Club and students from the football academy. The installation was carried out by our Polish partner Panorama Objecty Sportowe in autumn 2023.
