Kolossi is a community of nearly 6,000 residents near the city of Limassol on the southern coast of Cyprus. On the third-largest Mediterranean island, locals and tourists can enjoy almost every imaginable sport: diving, fishing, surfing, and sailing are particularly popular – and even skiing is an option on the highest mountain of the Troodos range, Mount Olympus. Basketball, volleyball, and especially football are especially beloved by locals. The Cyprus Football Association includes 14 teams, among them AEL Limassol, which has claimed six championship titles, six Cypriot Cup victories, and four Super Cup wins. The team has played its home matches in the Limassol Arena since 2023, but its training sessions take place at the Kolossi Community Stadium. The integrated, permanent Polytan CoolPlus function effectively reduces turf temperature under direct sunlight, and it is particularly effective in textured turf systems due to the large surface area that reflects heat radiation. Our LigaTurf RS+ with CoolPlus function was installed at the Kolossi Community Stadium with environmentally friendly cork infill, a natural, renewable raw material that is 100% biodegradable.
