Rekortan BS and LigaTurf RS+ at the recreation and sports complex in Dzierzgoń

A small town with big ambitions

Dzierzgoń, formerly known as Christburg, is a picturesquely situated town in northern Poland, located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Over the years, the city has been developing its infrastructure, striving to improve the quality of life of its residents. One of the projects in this area was the implementation of a modern sports and recreation complex, which was created as part of a task aimed at comprehensively meeting the recreational and sports needs of the commune's residents.

The facility includes a football field and multipurpose field, as well as changing rooms, enclosed by a four-lane athletics track. In the sprinting area, the number of lanes increases to six. As the surface for the athletics facility, which also includes a long jump area, Rekortan BS in was installed in brick red, our all-rounder for competition and training facilities. This structural spray-coated surface is the economically ideal solution for athletics and is primarily used for running tracks and run-up tracks, just like in Dzierzgoń.

Rekortan BS has a structured surface that is water-permeable and practically made for spikes. The surface is also quick and easy to install.

The football field is equipped with LigaTurf RS+, our highly robust synthetic turf system. It is predominantly used as a playing surface in stadiums, training centres and club sports facilities. With its rhombus-shaped and extra-thick turf fibres, combined with Polytan Entanglement Technology, this filled synthetic turf provides lasting optimal shock absorption and outstanding ball rolling and bouncing characteristics. The width-to-thickness ratio of the fibres, which return to an upright position after use, makes LigaTurf RS+ extremely durable and long-lasting.

This is yet another reason why LigaTurf synthetic turf from Polytan is one of the most frequently FIFA-certified football turf systems. We now also offer this system in the LigaTurf RS+ R version: since the filaments contain PCR recycled material, the turf fulfils modern sustainability requirements, including certification in accordance with the ISCC’s mass balance approach. Another milestone in Polytan’s product portfolio is the world’s first CO2-neutral synthetic turf, LigaTurf Cross GT zero.

The running track and synthetic turf system were installed in 2023 by our Polish partner, Panorama Obiekty Sportowe Sp. z o.o. Thanks to their help, local clubs and sports sections have gained a modern facility that provides a wide range of training and organizational opportunities. The new infrastructure allows for classes to be conducted in comfortable conditions, supporting the development of sports passions and raising the level of sports in the region. This is an important step towards supporting physical activity and integrating the local community, which opens up new perspectives for both amateurs and professional athletes.
